In 2009, seventeen year old Brittanee Drexel disappeared while on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, going without her mother’s permission. While pretending to stay at a friend’s house in her hometown of Rochester, NY, she and two others sneaked off to the South Carolina resort town. On the night of April 25, she walked out of a hotel and was never seen or heard from again.
Seven years later, a man serving a 25-year prison sentence for homicide offered new information to the FBI on the case, saying he was present when she was gang-raped, pistol-whipped, then shot dead.
